Can't Breathe, Need Help, Second Opinion Please! Don't Know WHERE ELSE TO Turn!

(24/3/09 07:20:27)

Well I have had phlegm IN my throat FOR what seems LIKE forever! Probably MORE than 3 months I would say. It has gotten a lot worse IN the past few weeks. It doesn't seem to be related to a cold of any kind. It's LIKE if I don't forcefully hack it up out of my throat, I am constantly swallowing large amounts of phlegm throughout the day. I have been finding myself struggling to get air, as I take these deep breaths once in a while to feel like my lungs are satisfied. I am really starting to get concerned. I saw my doctor a couple months ago about the shortness of breath, and he just prescribed me antihisamines. I do not believe this is an allergy. Then I went back, with more symptoms, as I was still having the same issue, but now my stomach was feeling very crampy (as it is still, and not related to menstrual cycle) and he gave me something for acid reflex, which I also do not think was the problem at all, but he completely disregarded the original problem I was having with the shortness of breath and the phlegm. I just want a diagnosis! Or atleast an idea of what may possibly be causing all of this. I have just overall not felt good lately, and I feel like I am getting worse. I really think I need help. I am supposed to be getting a CT scan next wednesday, and I am sure that will probably give me some answers, but in the mean time...what should I do to breathe for the rest of this long week? I have a very high-paced, physical job, and I need to make it...Thankyou!!
