Sick pay

I had to go off work sick earlier this year when I became very poorly with breast cancer. I have received sick pay for the last 6 months until this finished in August. I now get nothing from them and work rang me today and asked me to put in writing that I have finished work. I was just about to write the letter when my husband told me to get some advice as to my rights and whether writing to them would affect my benefits?
